Now Im sure you cannot dispute the fact that the main drive in EVE's economy these days is Tech 2 research and manufacture. Its the main money spinner and be you an agent runner, a researcher, manufacturer, miner or fighter you all would like a Tech 2 BPO to call your own.
That was my goal, to own my own Tech 2 BPO and begin to produce something for the masses ....and of course get rich doing so.
For approximately 5 months now I have been visiting my agent and doing mind numbing 'missions' for him. Everything seemed fine for me, a relative agent noobie. Besides accepting missions the only option he gave me was 'Take my research elsewhere' ...well he seemed a fine chap so why would I do that ?? Every thing seemed fine.
NOW , forgive me Im wrong but if your research agent gives you missions to further the research and gives only other option of taking your research elswhere you'd think he was busy working away ...WOULDN'T YOU ??
Although I know this is going to get locked I dont give a **** because Im about to go postal on the utterly retarded and unhelpful GM's:
I filed a petiton because I noticed under agent info he was not displaying how many RP points I had acrued in these months. I was adamant it was just a display bug:
My Petition: *snip*
The Reply: *snip*
Me going mental: Hi
*snip* /end rant
Am I being unreasonable or is this the admittance of a bug and the worst possible offer of compensation ever .

Yes this was my first R&D agent and I didnt really know where to check the research points totals. I never really felt a need as I was happily doing missions and he was saying stuff like 'Well done this will further our research' or 'Hmmmm we've hit a snag' etc.
Im gutted and rather angry at what Ive been told. I think this is utterly poor customer service.
Mr Forum mod I understand petiton responses are not allowed and I apologise but I wanted to show the community the level of insulting service I have been awarded.
Basically to sum it for anyone that does care:
The bug was admitted and I was told that agent was broken and I had not acrued ANY research points for last 5 months thus missing chance for any BPO's. My compensation was 'Ive fixed it for you but you need to go see him and start all over again'.
They couldnt even have the decency to say SORRY, not once did he even say SORRY for wasting 5 months of your game time and RL money let alone get out a calculator and work out how points I should have to give me them
Its disgusting !!
Its like spending 5 months training skills and due to some bug they vanish overnight. Instead of saying sorry and giving them back. They say 'oh yeah, yuo characters broken but if you start again you should be ok'
TOTAL JOKE

Huh ? I did have GM response. The response was 'Oh yeah thats broke, Ive fixed it so start again'
Not even a SORRY, not one single apology or the slightest hint that they were going to compensate me.
I think Im well within my rights to rant a little.
Perhaps here isnt the best place but I just wanted to see if others felt I was being unreasonable .....apparently not.
Im now waiting for a reply to my follow up and hope I can come on here and make a grovelling apology to the GM's. Im man enough to say sorry when I do something wrong !!

Jodrell you dont mean do you ? I never mentioned forum moderation ??
I do understand that 'ranting' on these forums isnt going to really help my cause but for what its worth its made me feel a little better. I assure you I will continue to pursue this through proper secure channels (ie petition) but after the initial reply appear to be simply getting stonewalled with the 'auto-reply'. I also have not said anything which could be considered abusive so as a paying customer I feel Im ok to express my opinions on here without it detrimentally effecting the support I receive/deserve.
Thanks for the support guys. If (and I hopefully mean WHEN) they adequately compensate me with RP's/isk/bpo then I would of course thank them kindly but so far this has left a rather bitter taste in my mouth.
I too have received mostly good support in the past.....except the time when a GM told me, in response to a problem with EVE locking my PC, that I should try re-installing windows (even though only EVE caused issues) because sometimes it matters whether you install Windows on a Friday as opposed to a Saturday ...wtf. Needless to say I went a bit postal because sometimes I am sure they sit in the office after a few beers at lunch laughing at us.
As said though I hope with continued dialogue/pestering I can get the compensation I deserve. Cheers guys. If its not against forum rules I will even let you know how I get on because as someone mentioned. This is the sort of thing which could cause me to quit this great game.
Oh and yes Bubbles I know I probably wouldnt have got a BPO , but you gotta be in it to win it. I get what ya saying though.

Reishha I think you are in cloud cuckoo land for what its worth. To try and pass the blame onto me is quite frankly insane. I dont know all the ins and outs of EVE and should not be expected to. When I visit my Research agent and he gives me option to STOP research and also mails me saying 'well done this will further our research' or 'we've hit a snag' that kind of indicates that he IS WORKING.
*snip*
Bob Ghengiskhan, thankyou for your support ...and Boonkai I can only dream
And for the record to those talking about Customer Services. I work in a Customer Services dept for one of the worlds largest companies so pls dont lecture me about how to treat the staff. I dont feel Ive been particulary rude and my initial petition was VERY polite and even admitted perhaps I was jumping the gun.
The response clearly indicated the absolute bare minimum had been done for me without even taking into account what Id lost. Not even an apology and I dont feel Im asking for anymore than I deserve.
A true professional outfit treats the nice customers the same as the *******s. The jerk offs as you put them (although I dont think Ive qualified as that) do eventually get better service if they rant because a customer is a customer.

IT IS A DISPLAY BUG.
After next patch, if you don't have any RP, re-petition.
NO IT WAS NOT !! MMMMKAY
They have stated it was broken and that its fixed and I have to talk to him again to start afresh ie I have NO research ongoing anymore due to their 'fix'.
On the plus side there does seem to be some progress starting and I now have a little more optimism I may get some form of deserved compensation. I will not discuss details of result through respect for forum rules etc but will indicate whether it was postive or negative , of that I assure you.
Thanks again for the kind words of support

Edited by: Space Debris on 27/08/2004 14:05:22 And Kieron thankyou very much for your words, however its almost certainly been confirmed as not being a display bug because whatever 'fix' was performed upon first enquiry has totally reset my agent and therefore lost anything I was doing.
I was told I would have to start again hence me certainly not letting this lie.
